Comentario I've only been to the Farragut el Charro, and from the very first dining experience i've had I just keep coming back. Their chimichanga salad plate is hands down the best meal ever! The service is always quick and friendly, its definitely the spot for traditional family outings. But you guys need a billboard so more people can find you!

Comentario To Jessie and Tom: Good AUTHENTIC Mexican food can't be served via a drive-though. If you want Mexican food at a drive-though go to that place that sells dog meat on taco shells I think it's called Taco Bell.

Comentario Went because the web site advertises a drive thru, which would be great but to our dismay, the drive thru was not open or even appeared to be ever working...so we drove across the street to Soccertaco because the food is better anyways.

Comentario We visited El Charro because we wanted some mexican food while we were in Knoxville. The place was packed at 12pm, but we didnt have time to stop. We were able to stop by 2pm and they were awful! The place on Kingston pike looks like an old rundown kfc. The restaurant was dirty, the bathrooms were disgusting, the service sucked. When 2 of us had dr pepper and 1 of us had a coke, she gave us a a refill and poured a pitcher of coke into our dr pepper even though we told her that we had dr pepper. The food looks like it was thrown on a plate and shoved in the oven to cook. I didnt eat more than a few bites of my food because it was so gross. The salsa was too spicy, the burritos and refried beans were yuck. Never again. We couldnt believe how much business this place got at 12noon yet it was 2pm and it was disgusting. Also a couple had been there 10 minutes and noone had acknowledged them.

Comentario El Charro is my favorite restaurant in Knoxville, and I know the same is true for many of my friends. The salsa at El Charro's is my favorite thing to eat in the world. I grew up going to the restaurant and eating the salsa is like comfort food to me. If only I could get the recipe. When I was in the 3rd grade, the staff let me borrow a sombrero for a school play. Today, I am married and my wife and I continue to eat at El Charro on a regular basis with our friends. Knoxville would never be the same without this restaurant.

Comentario I discovered El Charro so many years ago I can't even count! It's the first place we think of when someone says "what's for lunch!" Granted, I'm not a Mexican Food expert, but only an idiot would compare this food to Taco Hell-o! Good, plentiful servings at a very very good price - I couldn't buy the ingredients to make the dishes they serve up for what they charge! And the service is always great!

Comentario El Charro is the BEST!! Their tamales are soooo awesome. I like them mild, with lots of breading, and that's the way they are...the flan is to DIE for, and if they'd let us, we'd just MOVE IN! Thanks for the great food and friendly service! We LOVE EL CHARRO!
